RTS

Overview

This concept is largely inspired by the Age of Empires series and Empire Earth, which itself was made by former Age of Empires developers.

Unique aspects

  • Unique armour system where the armour penetration is independent of the damage
  • Economy with 5 base resources (Food, Wood, Coin, Iron and Stone) plus knowledge
  • Soft caps instead of hard caps. You can exceed the population limit, but at a cost
  • Buildings are placed on a grid and have an entrance on one or more sides
  • Visibility system instead of simple circular line of sight of binary stealth
  • Reduced usage of bonus damage or attack modifiers

Time period

The concept is not really limited to any specific time period, but realistically it would be very challenging to cover the entire human history up into the future like Empire Earth does.

Eras

The game is divided into different large Eras. Each Era can be seen as a kind of game on it’s own.

  1. Bronze Age (until 1000 BC)
  2. Classical Antiquity (until 500 AD)
  3. Middle Ages (until 1500 AD)
  4. Early Modern (until 1820 AD)
  5. Industrial Age (until 1920 AD)
  6. Modern Age (until 1990)
  7. Digital Age

Ages

Each Era is divided into 3-5 Ages that function like the Ages in Age of Empires. Unlike Empire Earth there is not a constant line of Ages from the Prehistoric unto the Space Age.
